K9 Services believes the perfect foundation to a lifelong relationship of strong bonds between an owner and their dog is is good training.

Whether in a class or one to one situation working with your dog should be fun and rewarding. Consistency and patience used over the training period will result in a rewarding outcome for both dog and owner.

Food and praise are used to establish new behaviours, then “natural consequences” are used for correction. Dogs are given clear leadership and pack messages to which they respond well. Shock collars or physical punishment are not used.

These are the methods we have used to train our own dogs to a high standard of obedience.

Our classes are kept small for more personal coaching and attention.
